milCloud 2.0 Sunset Success

As of May 31, 2022, DISA’s Hosting and Compute Center (HaCC) successfully migrated all customer accounts from the milCloud 2.0 environment, before the end of the current option performance period, which is June 8, 2022. The strategic pivot from milCloud 2.0 was based on Lt Gen Skinner’s Strategic Program Assessment (SPA), which focused on providing an agile, secure, and resilient environment, as well as a “best value” capability going forward. The SPA findings led to the decision to allow the contract to expire rather than exercise the next option period.

The six-month migration was an “all hands on deck" effort executed by the HaCC and our customers to meet the milCloud 2.0 sunset deadline. In just a few months, HaCCers partnered with each customer to create migration plans and execute their workload and account migration. We appreciate our customers’ flexibility during this time and we are excited to support our customers with Stratus, our new cloud offering.

Stratus is currently operational at the unclassified and secret classification levels and provides a multi-tenant, self-service management capability for compute, storage, and network infrastructure. For more information about Stratus, visit: https://www.hacc.mil/Our-Portfolio/Stratus/
