Kristy Leasman is Chief, Cyber Security Division, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) J-9 Hosting and Compute (HaC) Directorate. In this role, Ms. Leasman is responsible for overseeing all cyber security mandates, the cyber security team, including analysts and administrators, coordinating security measures, developing strategies to mitigate cyber threats and resolving high-level security issues for DISA’s portfolio of hybrid hosting and compute capabilities and solutions. The HaC leverages industry best practices to drive unification for hosting and compute platforms, create optionality for our customers, and provide hybrid cloud solutions globally to the warfighter to win.
 
Most recently, as Colonel, USAF, Ms. Leasman served as the Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) to the Director of Staff (DS), Air Force Installation Mission Support Center (AFIMSC) and the Military Assistant, Service Operations Division, DISA, San Antonio, Texas on a Military Personnel Appropriation (MPA) tour.  As the IMA to the DS, Ms. Leasman implemented the Commander’s direction governing 3,467 globally dispersed personnel assigned to HQ staff, four Primary Supporting Units (PSU) and ten detachments responsible for installation and mission support capabilities to 77 Air Force installations, nine major commands and two direct reporting units with an annual budget of approximately $10 billion.  She directly advised the AFIMSC Commander, Vice Commander and Executive Director for matters of Center Operations to include resource allocation and personnel actions.

As the Military Assistant to the Service Ops Division, Ms. Leasman assisted with leading a global organization of military, civilian and contractor personnel who plan, develop, deliver and operate joint, interoperable, command and control capabilities and a global enterprise infrastructure, in direct support of the President, Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Combatant Commanders, Department of Defense components, and other mission partners across the full spectrum of operations.  She provided 24/7 on-site management of Security and Network Operations Watch Officers ensuring priority service restoral for high value missions related to Continuity of Operations (COOP), Continuity of Government (COG) and Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) capabilities.

Ms. Leasman was born and raised in Shepherd, Montana and has served in the USAF for nearly 30 years in a variety of capacities starting as a E-1 Information Manager followed by ROTC Det 842 Cadet then climbed the commissioning ladder to earn the rank of Colonel.  She has been assigned to the USAF Active Duty, Texas Air National Guard and USAF Reserve throughout her career. Ms. Leasman is very active outdoors on her small cattle and sheep farm in South Texas which she runs with her husband, Tas, and children, Justin and Katlyn.
